Study of Isospin "Forbidden-" and "Allowed-" Inelastic Scattering of Deuterons from Nitrogen-14

We have studied the isospin forbidden- and allowed-transitions in ^<14>N (d, d')^<14>N reactions at E_d = 10.03 and 11.65 MeV. The succesive single-nucleon transfer contributions are evaluated in terms of the second-order distorted wave Born approximation. The experimental results of the 2.31-MeV (0^+, T = 1) state in ^<14>N is well accounted for by the isospin mixing due to the Coulomb interaction in the intermediate channels. The particle transfer processes play an important role also in the excitation of the 3.95-MeV (1^+, T = 0) state.
