The 21st century is a century of the environment and needs the corporate social responsibility (CSR). As BRICs is gathering strength, the global competition is becoming so hard. If CSR causes the large increase of manufacturing cost, corporate competitive edge will deteriorate. The comparison analysis between Japan motor industry that is enlarging a worldwide sense of existence and other industries was done. In Japan motor industry, the ratio of the research and development expense within the environmental preservation expense is very large. There is a possibility that the environmental preservation cost can be converted to the value concept by this strategy.
