Using the shell model wave functions, we discuss properties of negative parity states of A=40 nuclei; ^<40>K, ^<40>Ca and ^<40>Sc. Within the 1hω shell model space, energy spectra, C3 form factors, E3 transitions and M1 moments were calculated and compared with experimental data available. We also calculated log ft values for positron decays from ^<40>Sc and spectroscopic factors in one-proton-transfer reactions. Many of the experimental data are well reproduced by the simple 1 particle-1 hole model. However, it is necessary to introduce 3 particle-3 hole states to reproduce some of the experimental facts; C3 form factors and E3 transition probabilities for the 2nd and 3rd 3^- states of ^<40>Ca.
