We describe the performance and reliability of a next generation fiber-to-free-space MEMS based Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) for transparent optical networks. The WSS has closed loop servo control of the MEMS micromirrors via feedback from an integrated Optical Channel Monitor (OCM). The closed loop control and fiber to free-space optical design produce performance well suited for next generation fiber optic networks.
