I discuss the possible directions for unification beyond the supersymmetric standard model in view of the discovery of nonzero neutrino masses. If seesaw mechanism is to explain the neutrino masses, understanding the origin of the seesaw scale can throw light on this question. One prevalent belief is that the seesaw scale is linked to the scale of grand unification. I discuss the simplest grand unified model based on the SO(10) group that not only provides a simple resolution of the flavor puzzle for leptons in terms of the flavor structure of the quarks but it also leaves R-parity as an automatic symmetry of MSSM which leads to naturally stable neutralino dark matter. The model has the potential to resolve the strong and SUSY CP problems and is testable via a measurement of the θ_<13> parameter in the next decade.
