Abstract : Many companies have installed enterprise information systems using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) package. However, some ERP implementation projects were not success. On the other hand, many researchers and practitioners have attempted to investigate the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) for successful implementation of ERP project. However, the past CSF researches are a little considering the relationship between ERP implementation methodology and found CSFs, whereas the same success factor will not always remain critical throughout all the phases of ERP implementation project. Thus, it is necessary to identify the important success factors in each phase. To analyze this issue, the questionnaire survey had be conducted for major Japanese manufacturing companies. The result of this questionnaire survey reveals that the important factors are not the same on each phase. That is to say, the importance of each CSF is not same on each phase. Moreover, those CSFs have different importance and contribution rates on each phase by each ERP implementation objective. Thus, we extracted conclusion that user company must plan the project management and activities related to each CSF on each phase in order to achieve each ERP implementation objective. Keywords : (1) ERP implementation project, (2) CSFs (Critical Success Factors), (3) questionnaire survey, (4) statistical analysis, (5) project management
