In the first report we described the principle and method of a novel, optical differential calculus as well as the design and manufacture method of a novel filter. In the second report we described both the verification and the concrete examples of application of what has been introduced in the first report. In the present report we describe how to calculate a distorted ratio of a measurement system in order to analyze non-linear characteristics that will result in the measurement system and to evaluate the fidelity of an optical system. We also describe the optimum conditions required for designing a measurement system in accordance with analysis of those results. According to the filtering methods that have been developed so far, a measurement system becomes non-linear because of limitation of the aperture of a mask. Numerical calculations were conducted regarding an influence of non-linear characteristics on distribution of intensity of an image plane, where the non-linearity of a measurement system was analyzed mathematically and parameters were arranged for the magnitude of distribution of a strain that is practically predictable as well as fluctuation of the magnitude, in accordance with specifications of grid constant, etc. which are duplicated on each of elements or a specimen of an optical system to be measured. As a criterion for evaluation, a distorted ratio and contrast of an image were defined with regard to an input and an output, where the input implies distribution of amplitude permeability of an object and the output implies distribution of amplitude permeability of an image processed of the object. Then, specifications required for an optical system was determined by designating limitations of an allowable distorted ratio and contrast, and preparations were made so as to enhance designing of a concrete, optical system.
