The low-lying states of ^11Be and its mirror nucleus ^11N are investigated in terms of the coupled-channel calculation. A deformed Woods-Saxon potential is used for the core-valence interaction. The loose binding effects of a valence nucleon interacting with a deformed core on the S factor and the anomalous ground state of ^11Be are systematically discussed. Calculated excitation function is consistent with the observed excitation function of ^10C+p. Calculated energy levels are consistent with the observed 1/2^+, 1/2^- and 5/2^+ levels of ^11N and are also consistent with the Coulomb shifts for the above three levels between the nuclei ^11Be and ^11N. We find that systematically, the Coulomb shifts depend strongly on the diffuseness parameter. Furthermore, a new type of the mirror symmetry breaking (MSB), the MSB of the S factor of the 1/2^+ states between the nuclei ^11Be and ^11N, is discussed. We find that this MSB of the S factor affects the Coulomb shift.
