• We demonstrate an explicit evaluation of the traces of the type I q-vertex operators over the irreducible highest weight representation space of the quantum affine algebra U_q(sl_2) with an arbitrary representation level k. The same technique can be applied to the traces of the type II q-vertex operators, which was recently realized by the author. This makes possible the calculation of various form factors in the XXZ and its higher spin extension.
