Mixed-symmetry 2^+ states of ^<56>Fe and ^<54>Cr are investigated by shell model in a large configuration space in the pf-shell. We can reproduce experimental energy levels by using Kuo-Brown interaction. The (e, e') form factors in ^<56>Fe are also reproduced quite well by including the core polarization effect. By inspecting these reliable shell model wavefunctions, we conclude that the 2_2^+ and the 2_4^+ states share the main part of mixed-symmetry component in ^<56>Fe, while the 2_3^+ and the 2_4^+ states do in ^<54>Cr.
