The one-year experimental study reported in this article investigated which of three types of feedback had the most beneficial effect on EFL students' English-language journal writing. The three types of feedback were: meaning-focused feedback, positive comments, and error-focused feedback. The major finding was that meaning-focused feedback was more effective than either positive comments or error-focused feedback in facilitating overall improvement in journal entries.
