In normal subjects and in diabetics, the plasma glucose and insulin were measured during 50g oral glucose tolerance test. These data were applied to following formula Y(t)=Ce^<-At>sinBt and to try to express of mathematical model of the glucose regulatory system. The parameters of the model are estimated from time series impulse response to the data. By using these parameters, the analysis of dynamic pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus was attempted. Each parameters, damping coefficient(A), resistent force(B), sensitivity(C), initial velocity(Vo), time of maximum value (Tmax) and maximum value (Fmax) were defined and analysed. As a characteristic of D. M., it was considered that the patients decreased or lost the ability to adapt to external stimuli such as glucose tolerance, and to keep the homeostasis, namely regulatory or controling system. Diabetic angiopathy was closely related to rather the pattern of change in blood glucose which was depended on regulatory or controling system than the level of blood glucose values. Therefore, in future, the main point in treatment of D. M. not only normalize the level of blood glucose value for example, fasting blood glucose but also need to regulate the regulatory or controling system and to resemble similar pattern of change in blood glucose to normal subjects as much as possible.
