We numerically study the ground state properties of the DE model in one dimension. The DE model is one of the typical models which describe transition metal oxides, mainly the perovskite manganites, which are known to show the colossal magnetoresistance. Here we study the model with a next nearest-neighbor hopping. In this paper, we numerically study the electronic structure of the one-dimensional DE model in zero temperature.
