Networked passive sensors asynchronously receive the same signal to obtain the time differences of arrivals from the target, so that they can clarify the target position. To improve the sensitivity of the networked passive sensor system, sensors are deployed in terms of observing or tracking precision, solving sensor deployment optimization problem. It is regarded as the N-body problem or the structure prediction by molecular dynamics, when the virtual forces to improve the positioning precision is defined for every sensor. The precision function of the target positioning is formulated in 2D space, and its derivative is used as the improvement direction.
