A strategy to realize the tropospheric delay correction of the GPS signals via a satellite is presented. In the augmentation experiment using the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System it is newly aimed to realize the correction system of the tropospheric delay, which is one of the major error sources of the GPS positioning. The presented strategy consists of a method to apply the tropospheric delay obtained by the GPS network analysis to generate the correction information and a user algorithm to restore the correction information from the correction message. By taking advantage of the model specified in SBAS, the required amount of the correction data in minimized without degrading the practical accuracy. It is also shown that users in the experiment area can receive the sufficient correction information by receiving only 2 messages. The feasibility to put the presented strategy to a practical use is clearly indicated.
