概要

• An overview is given of the Subaru telescope, an 8.2 m diameter optical-infraredtelescope atop Mauna Kea, together with representative first light images which proved the highperformance of the telescope. Expectation for Japan's HII/L2 mission SPICA to be launched atthe end of this decade is described.
