With the entry of global automakers such as VW, GM, Honda and Toyota, the Chinese automobile manufacturing industry has experienced rapid growth especially since 2000. The production structure has also been changing. On the supply side, the emphasis has changed from truck manufacture to passenger car manufacture. This shift has been met on the demand side, as individual users have begun to supplant government and enterprises as the main market for automobiles. The Chinese automobile industry has changed and developed greatly, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Such development and structural changes have been accompanied not only by evolution of the production system but also the reform of the distribution system. With the promotion of the reform and open-door policy in China, the distribution system has undergone major structural changes in a short space of time. While traditional systems remain in part, the distribution system is now one of exclusive dealerships controlled by manufacturers, instead of being a planned system controlled by central government. This paper analyzes the development of the automotive industry in China from the point of view of the distribution system. Though it has traced a developmental path peculiar to China, the distribution system seems to be orientated towards conformance with global standards. The author examines the evolution of the automobile distribution system in China, investigating the impact of governmental industrial policy, and corporate marketing channel strategies.はじめに 1.中国自動車産業の発展 2.中国自動車流通の経緯と現状 3.ブランド志向の販売組織 むすびにかえて
