The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between social support and subjective well-being in adolescents. This study examined the influence of the amount of social support and the type of the object representation on three factors of subjective well-being, life satisfaction, existence of positive affect and absence of negative affect. In this study, the object representation was classified into good object representation, bad object representation and inconstant object representation. The results were as follows: 1.people with good object representation perceived more support than other people, and the support raised every factor of subjective well-being. 2.people with good object representation could feel the same amount of life satisfaction, positive affect and negative affect even when they perceived less support. 3.people with bad object representation could feel the same amount of life satisfaction, positive affect and negative affect as people with good object representation when they perceived enough support. 4.for the people with inconstant object representation, social support did not raise their life satisfaction.
