A novel printed ultra-wideband (UWB) double-T-shaped antenna is presented in this article. Unlike the conventional double-T-shaped antennas, the proposed antenna had two halves of stacked T-shaped dipoles that were printed on each side of a mictowave substrate respectively. The proposed antenna, which was fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line, generates the desied ultra-wideband operation. Prototype designed for UWB operations in 3.1〜10.6 GHz had been constructed and tested. The experimental results also indicate that the omni-directional radiation patterns and reasonable gain flatness through the entire operating band were observed.
