Several techniques to modify the operating frequency, enhance the bandwidth, and miniaturize the size of the microstrip-fed slot antenna at the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (the industrial-medical (ISM) bands and the Hiperlan2) bands have been presented in this study. The slot antenna was fabricated by utilizing a Z-like slot topology instead of the conventional rectangular-shaped one, adding four symmetrical turning stubs at the slot edges, and splitting a radiating aperture into a double-slot. The proposed bandwidth of 410 MHz and 1180 MHz centered at the 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz bands. The simulated and the measured radiation pattersn of the double Z-like slot antenna were shown.
