This case study is undertaken as one of the practical researches in art appreciation for the primary school children. In this study, we selected as a subject of art appreciation Joan Miro's "Ploughed Earth" which is well-known as the first abstract art work ever executed by Miro. The main theme of this practice of art appreciation is placed on the birth of abstract forms in Miro's art. In order to make this issue clear, we present two more works by Miro to children who will form their own conclusions by means of comparing and interpreting these three works. First, children have a careful look of the details of "Ploughed Earth", and find some characteristic motifs. Secondly, they compare "Ploughed Earth" with "The Farmhouse:Mont-roig" to find, the relevance and distinction between two works. Thirdly, children are showed a third work "Kitchen Garden with Donkey" and given an information about the painted place which is a peculiarity common to three works. Fourthly, children compare three works and find great change in motifs in "Ploughed Earth". Lastly, children think about the reason and meaning of this great change of forms from naturalistic to abstract ones.
