In this paper we present a method of producing modulated high frequency fluidic jets. The modulating low frequency (50-200Hz) can be of the order of the dominant frequency in the flow while the high frequency (2-20kHz) actuation can be O(10-100) times the dominant frequency. This technique enables use of high momentum pulsing flows generated by a variety of methods with limitations on the frequency upper-bound to be coupled with a high frequency fluidic oscillator. This type of dual-band fluidic actuators could have potential to address flow control problems with a dominant frequency in the flow and requiring fine-scale mixing at the same time.
