We evaluated the effects of spatial and temporal smoothing in analyzing tumor enhancement profile on Brix model. MR images were acquired in a rat with transplanted prostate cancer cell on Bruker 4.7T unit. We employed Brix model for curve fitting on MR data set. The Gaussian and mean kernel were employed in each case for evaluate the effect of spatial smoothing. Also temporal smoothing effect was evaluated using linear interpolate methods. Curves were fitted on the tissue enhancement profile and estimated root mean square error (RMSE) using MATLAB. So spatial smoothing (Gaussian or mean kernel) and temporal smoothing reduce RMSE for representing tumor enhancement profile on Brix model.
