Web Comfortability (pleasantness on the Website) is a new concept aiming at the post-Web Usability paradigm. However, while the main focus of Web Usability is efficiency, the main focus of Web Comfortability goes beyond by supporting the user to interact with Websites in a stressless condition, i.e. comfortably or pleasantly. There are many factors that might influence on the Web Comfortability, such as design elements (design layout, color combination, typographic layout), cultural background and so on. The goal of this research is to study the influence of the arrangement of typography on the sense of Comfortability in Websites with focus to Japanese audience. To do so, we have compared -based on experimental design methods- the typographic layouts resulting from the combination of two factors, namely the justification and the size of the side-margins on a Web page. As the result, we found that typographic layouts do not greatly affect the reading time. However, there are differences in how the user perceives the Website, i.e. the user's impression on the sense of pleasantness, relaxation and unconstraint. Thus by focusing on the typographic assembly arrangement, it is possible to increase values for Web Comfortability, without slowing the required reading time.
