The aim of this paper is to clarify the concept of "Lifeworld", which is a key concept in the later stages of Husserl's phenomenology. To achieve this aim, I have traced the lines of the "Lifeworld" within Husserl's transcendental phenomenology. The main text I used was Die Krisis der europaischen Wissenschaften und die transzendentale Phanomenologie which is the basic work for the study of the "Lifeworld". The "Lifeworld" is the primordial world of our experience. It is always pregiven to us. All objective science is built upon this Lifeworld. Because of this, the Lifeworld is usually hidden from us in our "naturalistic" attitude towards the world. To recognize the Lifeworld, we have to perform "Epoche", that is, to terminate our scientific way of thinking. The Lifeworld is a relative world; but it also has a universal structure, so that objective science can be based on the Lifeworld. To investigate the Lifeworld itself within transcendental phenomenology, we need to perform a second "Epoche". After this procedure, we can analyse the "intentionality" of our consciousness-the inseparable connection of human beings to the world. In other words, we can analyse how transcendental subjectivity constructs the world of our consciousness. Finally, Husserl finds "Ur-Ich" as the ultimate ego, the core of consciousness.
