In this study, I examined second person pronouns in Cheophaesineo (1st edn.) in light of power relationships and formal/informal situations in which making requests, expressing appreciation, drinking, giving one's views, making a report, complaining are carried out. I categorized degree of deference observed in second person pronouns found in Cheophaesineo (1st edn.) and analyzed their various usage by making reference to context of speech. When a superior speaks to an inferior, a choice of personal pronoun alternates in accordance with the speaker's psychological viewpoint, and also a form of predicates is determined in accordance with a shift of the speaker's psychological viewpoint along with a change of context. A personal pronoun which is high in deference is strategically used to an equal addressee to show him more courtesy in the context of making requests in order to accomplish the mission.
