• The 6-(4-nitrophenylazo)-, 5'-chloro-6-(4-nitrophenylazo)-, and 5'-(4-fluorophenylazo)-derivatives of 1',3',3'-trimethylspiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2,2'-indoline] were synthesized and their structures were assigned by their ^<1>H- and ^<13>C-NMR spectral data.
