Thermophysical properties of equilibrium and supercooled liquid platinum were measured using non-contact diagnostic techniques with an electrostatic levitator. Over the 1691 to 2216 K temperature range, the density can be expressed asρ(T) = 19.2 x 10^3 - 0.96 (T - T_m) (kg m^[-3]) with T_m = 2041 K, yielding a volume expansion coefficient of 5.0 x 10^[-5] K^[-1]. In addition, the surface tension can be expressed as γ(T) = 1.80 x 10^3-0.14 (T - T_m) (10^[-3]N m^[-1]) and the viscosity as η(T) = 0.25exp[4.99x 10^4/((RT))] (10^[-3]Pas) over the 1743 to 2313 K temperature range.
