The purpose of this study is to construct all the reversible gears in external and internal meshing. In view of the fact that the theories in the past on this question are lacking in examining fully the intervals of parameters used in them, it seems that these gears have not been examined to the minutest details and in the ways of excluding the useless points. Moreover such theories hitherto have been confined the case in external meshing and nobody has treated of the case in internal meshing. Now to attain this purpose, I will treat of the problem to decide these gears by giving the gear ratio‘e', the number of teeth in contact‘n' and the pressure angle‘a'. Then it follows a necessary consequence that we will meet the problem on maximum or minimum number of teeth. It is noticeable that we cannot completely solve the ploblem to decide these gears by giving the number of teeth of both gears z_1 and z_2, till the above mentioned problem is solved. It is also noticeable that we cannot evade the argument of the trochoidal interference in the study of internal meshing, since with e > 1 given, we can produce the trochoidal interference, if we prefer the sufficient small positive number a as the pressure angle.
