• Each pseudoplasmodium of D. discoideum transferred onto the agar field with controlled temperature gradient always showsd either a positive or a negative thermotaxis. These results are due not to the so-called thermotaxis (i.e., heat per se) but to the secondary effects caused by the temperature gradient.
