Because I want to weave properly the web of beliefs of the people concerned with sociology, I took up Rorty's thought. As the first step to take the characteristics of Rorty's postmodernism, I put Moderns controversy and deconstruction of philosophy into the question in this paper. I took notice of Rorty's dialectical consideration about the controversy of Habermas with Lyotard in the former and Rorty's fundamental standpoint based on the post-philosophical culture according to the end of philosophy in the latter. I defined through abobe-mentioned both terms that Rorty was not one of the mere postmodernists. For Rorty evidently shows the reality that social sciences are based on the "weaker" conception of rationality.
