• The researches on the hollowing out of Japanese industries have a history of 30 years, but the studies carried out by many of researchers and institutes have been relying on the presumption that the hollowingout of Japanese industries was either occurring or was in the process of occurring.However, the hollowing out of Japanese industries did not really happen during those 30 years, in fact it had occurred openly just after 1997. Therefore, it seemed that the majority of the past research papershad been based on illusion, fiction, without substance. This paper is aiming to make clear the reasons why many researches had made false statements and to prove the process of the hollowing out of Japanese industries, by taking an example of Japanese electric manufacturing industries.
