This paper is an attempt to explore the possibilities of the conception of"Hospitality" as a new and vital tool for resolving the limitations of conservative economics based on "homo-economics", and"market value". Lately, we have been confronted with problems posed by a deteriorating environment, with elements such as global warming, and the huge loss of human lives in areas such as Iraq. At this point, we must attempt to answer this fundamental question: does economic society become more affluent and improve people's quality of life if individuals, corporations and countries compete freely, pursuing their own self-interests and expanding GDP? The economic society guided by self-interest has defects, as it does not take into account "social loss" ---deterioration of lives of other people, the natural environment, the poor, children, domestic communities, beautiful and irreplaceable historical landscapes, and the needs of future generations. The accumulation of social losses might be the direct consequence of "self-interest motivated" economic activities. In our time, the sustainability of the natural environment and of many human lives has been increasing endangered. Many economists, including Adam Smith, John Ruskin, Amartya Sen, the modern institutional economists, and advocates of "the economics for community" have insisted on the need to consider other characteristics possessed by human beings, such as sympathy, warm hearts, bonhomie, commitment, and the like. The functions and strengths of those characteristics can probably create a better economic societythan the purely self-interest-guided society. This paper proposes that we should utilize Hospitality as a leading new concept for assessing people's well-being, cooperative community and good society. In addition, it undertakes to propose that hospitalityshould be established as the new indicator for judging how and in what an economic society may be affluent and beneficial for living creatures, including the poor, children, and future generations. Additionally, we have tried to outline the fundamental conception of the new economics--- "The Economics of Hospitality", which overcomes the defects of conservativeeconomics and serve as a guide to a new economic society: "Hospitality Community".
