There are two versions, as a text, of Kinkaiwakashu, Minamoto Sanetomo's private anthology. One of them is the manuscript copied by Fujiwara Teika and others in about 1213, and the other one is the printed version compiled by Rhuei Akai, issued in the 4th year of Jokyo, 1687. Comparing these two texts, we find considerable differences, such as, in the division of the sections, in chapter's titles, in the arrangement of the topics, in the arrangement of poems, and in some other points as well. In this article, the writer pays much attention to the differences of section arrangement in these two texts, and tries to explain the method and intention of the editor in the Jokyo edition.
