In order to design a compact distributed constant circuit which is possible to use to a low power equipment, this paper discribes to use the circuit of bifilar helical line. Helical line is a compact circuit element because the short axial length of the line. The fundamental circuits are obtained from the bifilar helical line by giving simple terminal conditions such as to short or to open the end of line to the earth. The analysis of the circuit is proceeded by means of the equivalent circuit resolved itself into the balanced mode and the unbalanced one. Making use of the particular characteristic impedances and phase constants of the bifilar herical line, the circuits exhibit some superior attenuation characteristics. Lastly, it is shown the examples of the circuits applied to phase shifter and bandpass filters.
