It seems that the fundamental study on the atomization of liquids by dint of the ultrasonic sound waves has not yet been made systematically. In this study, we used the convergent ultrasonic vibrator which was immersed as to increase the efficiency of atomization remarkably. The experimental results we obtained are summarized as follos. (1) Size of liquid drops fabricated by means of an ultrasonic usually very uniform, and it becomes as small as a tiny fog particle when the sound frequency becomes high enough. (2) It seems that the effect of ultrasonic atomization is due to the direct disturbing action of the strong sound pressure concentrated towards the swallen portion of liquid surface. And the cavitation effect is also an important factor which affects indirectly the number of bubbles and their size. (3) Any remarkable variation does not appear in the amount of spray at the liquid temperatures ranging from 20 to 40℃.
