• EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN was held in Aichi Prefecture with the theme of "Nature's Wisdom". In this Exposition, it is thought the use of a natural resource to the architectures and the environment would be important, and we revalued the bamboo as a new resource of the 21st century. We proposed "Bamboo project" to Association for the EXPO and our proposition was adopted. In that plan, the pavilion in NGO Global Village was designed with a hybrid structural system of the bamboo and wood. Also, the new architectural designs, structural systems, and the structural joint systems were developed in that project. This report clarifies the development task and the experiment result of the architecture with bamboo. It is thought that continuous research in bamboo structure will be able to achieve more bamboo architectures for the future.
