The project started with the concept to develop a ceramic product line-up in cooperation with a local industry: Tsugaru Kanayama pottery in Aomori prefecture, which has been producing yakishime style ceramic products for about twenty years. The products were designed also for the use of a "modern Japanese" restaurant which is opening in a high-grade hotel in Helsinki, Finland. This is also a challenge to create modern and international products by this traditional production technique. The project will cover also the strategic design for establishing a new brand value by producing and marketing products with some possible graphic items such as brand logo and packages.
