The uniform distribution of sound in auditorium is one of the most important factors for the best artistic effects in music and the maximun intelligibility of speech. The theory of the sound distribution in general rooms, in this paper, is based on Sato's theory (Prof. to Waseda Univ. in Tokyo) for spherical rooms. In this theory, all wave phenomena are neglected, so it seems rather classical. But by such simplification, the calculation becomes for more simpler than that of the wave motion theory, and only by such method, the sound distribution in rooms can be estimated practically. For the purpose of checking the adaptability of the theory, an experiment has been carried out in the lecture rooms of Tokyo Univercity.
