CBR tests are performed to investigate difference of bearing capacity of granular base courses which have different grading curves in ranges of quality standard. Results of the tests which were done using new material and recycled material produced from asphalt concrete or cement concrete show apparent differences in CBR depend on their grading curves. In some cases CBR becomes more than twice compared with a value obtained from material which has different grading curve even if it is same material. For obtaining sufficient bearing capacity, adjustment of appropriate particle size distribution is found to be efficient to a certain degree. Also, grading curves which result in making larger CBR in the tests were compared with grading curve obtained by Talbot's equation.
