A greenhouse is covered overall with vinyl film. The greenhouse was constructed in the northern hemisphere and it is positioned from east to west lengthwise. The insolation enters the greenhouse from the south wall and roof. Heat energy is lost through on the inside north wall. Because, the north wall material was changed from vinyl film to hollow concrete block. The hollow concrete blocks stored thermal energy on the surface and in the air space, and prevented thermal energy diffusion. When the thermal energy was extracted, the room air recovered to the proper temperature for plant growth.. The construction expenses are higher for a greenhouse with blocks wall but it exhibits excellent durability. 20% of thermal energy loss was prevented when compared with an all vinyl greenhouse. The thermal efficiency could possibly be improved.
