In performing CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), boundary conditions are very important terms for the actual analyses including computer-aided-design. Though many types of supersonic nozzles have been designed with the assistance of CFD, the inlet/outlet boundary conditions are still not authorized because of the peculiarity of flow patterns in these apparatus, which are very dependable for realizing supersonic/hypersonic flow; in a supersonic nozzle, the inlet flow is subsonic and the outlet flow is supersonic. In this paper, the practical rules of the inlet/outlet boundary condition for the supersonic two-dimensional/axisymmetric nozzles are summarized, and then the flow patterns in the supersonic nozzle are shown as a calculation result.
