To look at historical development of Angkorian temple through and after Angkor period., "tiles" is one of important key-artefact of material culture succeeded from Angkor period to post Angkor period. Through several archaeological surveys with excavation at Banteay Kdei, one of the Angkorian temples having a characteristic of Bayon style in architectural and artistic elements, a huge amount of rooftiles were excavated. Most of them were belonging to the buildings constructed around the end of the 12^<th> century under King Jayavarman 7^<th>, and originally this was a Mahayana Buddhist temple, but some were exactly used on a roof of Buddhique Teraase of Theravada sanctuary after Angkor period. In this article, round and flat tiles excavated from Banteay Kdei are divided into two types of each based on the size and shape. In the history of Banteay Kdei, tiles of type 1 is main one, then gradually the amount of type 2 take the place of type 1. In the post-Angkor period, for the Theravada Sanctuary, type 2 was used only. Normally, it is said that tiles had disappeared with the stone monument around the end of Angkor period, but through the study of tiles from Banteay Kdei, material culture for instance , "tiles" has been exactly succeeded from Angkor.
