In this paper, a simplified analytical method is proposed, in which influences of the axial force on the elastic-plastic bending deformation analysis in framed structures are considered. Two assumptions are used: (1) the inelastic deformation with the extension in a member is replaced by an equivalent hinge that concentrates only to the nodes. (2) the beam theory of elasticity is used for a portion between elasto-plasticity hinges. The slope deflection method of existing elasticity analyses of the framed structures is generalized by using these assumptions for the elasto-plasticity strength analysis. This analytical method has such great advantages that treatment of complex structural strength problems is simplified and that computation time is saved substantially.
