1) The direct phosphorylation of pyridoxine with the mixture of H_3PO_4 and P_2O_5 was attempted and the best result was obtained under the following conditions (a) the ratio for the mixture of P_2O_5: H_3PO_4 is in 0.87:1, (b) the reaction temperature is at 70℃, (c) the reaction time is for 20 minutes. 2) The crystals of pyridoxine phosphate were obtained in a 45% yield after being treated with the reaction mixture with alcohol and ether. 3) A crude pyridoxine phosphate contained a small quantity of pyridoxine-4-phosphate but its amount was insignificant as compared with the pyridoxi-4-phosphate involved in the Ca salt of pyridoxine phosphate prepared by phosphorus oxychlocide.
