1. The Nagi has a strong nature, and its roots have mykorrhiza. It is supposed that the reason why the propagation power of the Nagi is so strong lies in the seeds. The seed of the Nagi is consisted of both external and Internal layers of episperm, endopleura and vegetative tissue. The vegetatibe tissue contains much fragrant non-drying oil, along with starch, protein; so that the seed is very powerful in germination. The seeds ripen in October, and fall during those months from October to May, and begin to sprout in the rainy season. 2. The shape of the leaf is ovate lanceolate and it has parallel veins; it also contains oil. 3. The pollen of the Nagi has the same shape with that of the pine tree. 4. The amount of water contained in the soil where the Nagi grow thick differ according to the habitate, but generally it is from 32% to 60%. 5. The percentages of sprouting seen in the germination test are as follow: Non-treated……64% Seeds treated with medichine……44% Seeds peeled and non-treated……72% Seeds peeled and treated with medichine……84% From the above results it is clear that the seeds peeled and treated with medichine have much lager germination capacity. It is also found that the seeds which do not sprout are mostly hard ones. As for the color of the seed-coats, those seeds which have rich collor are stronger in germination power than those which have light color. Those seeds which were put in the soil half of them germinated very good, attaining to 84%. 6. As to the component of the soil and mykorrhiza, they are now under experiment, and the results will be published afterward. 7. Coarse sands, Fine sands, Silt decrease as they go downwards. 8. Moisture is much in Ao-Horizon, and there is no great difference among various horizons. 9. Nitrogen is contained much in Ao, and it decrease as it goes downwards. 10. Humus, Ao-Horizon is almost made up of Humus, and it decrease as it goes downwards. 11. pH is Ao-Horizon 6.1, and lower Horizon is 6.4. Along with the fact that the seed of the Nagi has a very strong power of germination, the Nagi itself is a strong tree ecologically, and also the soil suits to the propagation of mykorrhiza. These are supposed to be the reasons why the great community of the Nagi is found on the Kasuga-Yama.
