A bidirectional lightwave system for multichannel AM-VSB TV signal has been developed. 1.3/1.55μm wavelength division multiplex technique was used. Channel capacities were 40 in down direction and 6 in up direction. The resultant C/N's were 51dB(down) and 55dB(up) after 20km transmission.
