• A simple algorithm based on periodogram for the estimation of the frequency of a complex sinusoid in Gaussian noise is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, the conventional periodogram is used to coarsely estimate the frequency, and the residual difference is further estimated by using the magnitude of periodogram. The simulation results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm outperforms the other algorithms at high SNR without any iterative operations.
