Tourism development has been rapid and progressive. In the last two decades, however, concerns have been raised over whether mass tourism should be reduced in favour of alternative forms of tourism calledeco, green and sustainable tourism. Here, an attempt is made to link tourism with sustainable concepts. The significance of sustainable development and the problems of implementation are discussed. It is concluded that tourism can be linked adequately to sustainable concepts although there is much to be solved.
