This study was designed to analyze the results of students' evaluation of teaching in three classes offered in this university's teacher-training course in the academic year 2000: Educational Psychology, Educational Methodology, and Audio-Visual Education. This questionnaire, including thirteen items, was developed by the Faculty of Letters and has been conducted since 1996. The statistical analysis revealed several variables affecting students'evaluation of teaching in these classes: multimedia teaching materials, lesson programs, class organization, class size, and so on. The main findings were as follows. Evaluations of "was this lesson fruitful for you?" highly correlated with such items as "were you interested in this lesson?" and "did you understand the content of this lesson?". On the contrary, evaluations of the fruitfulness of lessons didn't correlate with the three items, "did the instructor maintain good order in the classroom?". "did the instructor come late or cancel the class?", and "was use of the blackboard adequate?". Furthermore, judging from the results so far obtained, the study suggests that one of the items, "did you attend class regularly and endeavor to study hard in class?" should be divided into two: "did you attend class regularly?" and "did you endeavor to study hard in class?". It is also proposed that new items concerning utilization of computer presentation and intramural LAN should be added to the present items. Finally, the author suggests that these findings could be an informative guide to the improvement of teaching in the future.
